Such good lists!!The hmv Jubilee Poll results are in!
Congratulations to Iron Maiden & Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting who topped our hmv Jubilee Poll!
Over 55,000 votes were cast in the poll, celebrating the top 60 British albums & films from the last 60 years, as voted for by the public. The top titles, including the likes of Iron Maiden’s ‘The Number Of The Beast’, Trainspotting, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Monty Python and the Holy Grail are featured in the hmv store windows across the UK, as well as online at hmv.com, alongside a very British version of our beloved nipper.
Here’s what Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson had to say of the results:
“We’re astonished and delighted to hear The Number of the Beast has been named No.1 in HMV’s Diamond Jubilee survey for the greatest British album category. Some of the most influential and classic albums from the past 60 years were in the running so it’s a testament to our incredibly loyal and ever-supportive fans who voted for us. Iron Maiden is a proudly British band, so to win this category as voted for by the British public, in Jubilee year, is very special. Thank you to all our wonderful fans!”

Kat Dennings (June 13th, 1986)
For me, Kat Dennings might be the epitome of my ideal woman. If you sat me down on the Weird Science computer, the woman I’d make would probably come up looking strikingly similar to her. That face, those lips, and of course she’s got huge… Well you know. And when those pictures leaked a while back; oh boy, a gift from the heavens above. But to me, she’s not just looks, she’s also a damned good actress who I really enjoyed in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Plus whenever I see or hear her in interviews, she just comes off as such a sweet and down to earth woman. And did I mention, SHE’S JEWISH (my excitement will make since in a latter installment of WWGI)! But seriously, I just really love Kat, and feel if I keep going I’m gonna come off as a creeper, so I’ll quit while I’m (hopefully) ahead.
